From Disco to Electro, dance music possesses a variety of flavours. "Techno" is the commonly confused and generic term used for electro music and dance music. Music journalists and fans of techno, however, prefer to maintain a clear distinction between the related but qualitatively different styles such as the tech house and the trance music.

Trance can be seen as reviving the original conceptions of music whereby rhythms were used to alter states of consciousness to bring about spirituality and dissociation. Here the focus is typically not on the lyrical content of the songs, but instead on the sound as a whole. The gradual progression and acceleration of tempo can bring about a hypnotic trance in the listener. An all night dance party was organized at HUB Alumni Hall (Penn State) on the 16th of April where one could enjoy his favorite CLASSICS, Bach, Beethoven, and Vivaldi, remixed to a TECHNO groove! Performed live by UltraMax and Penn State Innovation Orchestra and be a part of the mesmerizing experience as the conveyor belt of music talents rolled on.
