Mayhem at Techno Music Party

Raves are often reputed as nothing more than open-air drug events. Critics of them often point to the mayhem, chaos and potential drug abuse at these events. Overdose deaths of ravers are serious reasons why rave parties are sometimes criticized.

The suspected overdose death of a 15 year old girl at the Electric Daisy Carnival in Los Angeles, has sparked some anger against techno music parties. The even involved more than 180,000 ravers at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum over two days. It featured loud techno music, spectacular light shows, and unfortunately there were also numbers of drug usage. The sad death of the girl at the event, however, has caused a debate as to whether techno party events should be banned.
