© chad davisThe Electric Daisy Carnival rave was already causing concern for the Los Angeles Police Department even before it started.
The LAPD had warned them about potential crowd control and drug use before the techno music rave. Unfortunately, the LAPD's warnings were ineffective as 120 people were hospitalized, while one girl, 15, died due to a suspected drug overdose.
During the two-day event, the LAPD arrested 118 persons mainly for possession of illegal narcotics. The LAPD had patrolled the weekend rave at the Los Angeles Coliseum, shifting resources from other parts of the city. The LAPD were distressed that there were so many people under the influence at the Electric Daisy rave. The fact that there were so many people at the event, caused the scale of the problems to grow even larger.
