The annual Ultra Music Festival in Miami is a showcase for some of the top techno dance music talent. After 13 years of steady growth, the festival has finally outgrown itself, forcing organizers to expand it from a two-day event to three days for the first time ever.
Last year the festival drew over 100,000 fans from around the world, and jumped to the #4 spot for the highest grossing festivals in the country. It is the first major festival of the 2011 tour season, and the festival has already sold out more than a month in advance, despite being expanded to three days. The festival was originally conceived as a purely electronic dance festival but has since been expanded to include bands from other genres like The Killers, The Cure, and The Black Eyed Peas.
